Board Welcomes Sarah M. Nehls, M.D., and Steven J. Gedde, M.D.


Two new Directors and longtime volunteers will join the American Board of Ophthalmology in 2017.

The Board welcomes:

Sarah M. Nehls, M.D., Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Nehls specializes in laser vision correction surgeries such as IntraLASIK, custom LASIK and PRK as well as diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the cornea, including cornea transplantation.

Steven J. Gedde, M.D., John G. Clarkson Chair in Ophthalmology and Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He practices at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida. Dr. Gedde's practice focus areas include cataracts and intraocular lens, and glaucoma.
