Five long-time American Board of Ophthalmology Examiners were recognized in March for their dedication and service upon reaching their 20-exam milestone.

Following the recent Oral Examination, these volunteers were presented with the Board’s Ben Goldfeller Award, named for the late ABO volunteer who aided in the administration of examinations over an incredible 50-year period. The 2021 honorees included:

• Debby M. Alcorn, MD, Stanford, CA

• Pratap Challa, MD, Durham, NC

• Jean R. Hausheer, MD, Lawton, OK

• Mami A. Iwamoto, MD, Boston, MA

• Catherine Netwon, MD, Prospect, KY

Since 2002, the ABO has recognized Examiners who exhibit fidelity to the Boards’ mission through outstanding service over 20 examinations with the Goldfeller Award.
